A big hello from all of us at Scarf Room. We’re an online scarves and pashminas brand run by an all-women team who love fashion and understand the difference that a beautiful accessory can make.

OUR TEAM

MARIE

FOUNDER & WEBSITE MANAGER

After gaining a law degree (whilst trying to renovate a house and with three part-time jobs), Marie’s vision of a high-powered, fabulous lifestyle was soon replaced with nappies and toddler groups! Living permanently on building sites, she changed her focus to interior design gaining another qualification along the way. It was around this time she noticed a tiny shop to let. She leased the shop, bought stock and began learning about retail (making many mistakes along the way). It wasn't long before her friend, retail guru Claire, joined forces with her. Through running the business, Marie and Claire noticed a gap in the market for high-quality affordable scarves to wear everyday and everywhere. Luckily, as the retail premises had grown, buying trips abroad became the norm and, therefore, sourcing scarves and pashminas in beautiful countries such as Italy became commonplace.

CLAIRE

MERCHANDISE MANAGER

Claire entered retailing at the tender age of 15 managing her first store in Manchester. She quickly rose through the ranks and was head-hunted by a leading men’s fashion retailer. Following a career break to have a family, Claire was back at the helm managing the Lytham-based retail shop – room – alongside Marie. As room expanded, Claire was then the momentum behind the setting up of its online arm – Scarf Room – when she and Marie saw an opportunity in the market for selling scarves to a wider audience. She now divides her time between managing room and overseeing the continued growth of Scarf Room.

BRENDA

MARKETING MANAGER

Following her European Studies degree, Brenda qualified as a solicitor but gave up the Law when she moved from London to the North West just after her first child was born. As her children were growing up, she studied for a diploma in Yoga which she has practised her whole adult life. Her other loves are Italy and fashion, so when the opportunity presented itself to work at Scarf Room with its strong Italian connections, she grabbed it. She says, “I love the variety of my job. I’m involved in all aspects of the business from dealing with suppliers in Italy, Nepal and India, to promoting Scarf Room through well-optimised webpages, engaging e-mail campaigns and the not-to-be-missed blog. I also make a mean cup of tea.” Brenda also runs her own Yoga business.

KELLY

CREATIVE MANAGER

With a background in both photography and interior design, Kelly is responsible for creating the beautiful website that customers want to return to time and time again. Her day will be spent taking photographs of new collections, the styling of shoots, editing images, creating the visual part of marketing leaflets and graphics together with managing the portfolio of photos that we use in our advertising and social media. In addition to her work at Scarf Room, Kelly also runs her own photographic business & events company.

JADE

MEET OUR STOCK MANAGER

Jade is the youngest member of the Scarf Room team. Following a two-year training programme to become an Army medic, Jade entered retail in 2011. She now manages the Scarf Room stockroom. She is the reason your scarf arrives in such good time! We call her a packing ninja because she packs at the speed of lightning whilst ensuring that the right scarf goes out to the right person. She also makes sure that all the scarves are beautifully wrapped. We know this is a detail which is important to our customers as it is frequently mentioned in their reviews. Jade is an essential part of our Scarf Room team and, even on very busy days, stays calm and cool.
